I take inspiration from my surroundings, fleeting visual moments that become buried in my subconscious emerging later in abstracted form through graphite, ink and paint.

We currently live on a hill in Cheshire, overlooking the Dane Valley with far reaching views towards the Derbyshire Peak District. Here I am blessed with a constantly moving ever changing view of open skies. Their movement and transience, the changes in weather that create dramatic cloud shapes and colours and a varying light throughout the seasons all find their way into my heart & mind.

Its not difficult to make the connection to my work when you consider these snapshots taken from our garden.
